Spring Parents & Participants,

Sacramento County officials have issued a “stay at home” legal order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

This order will begin at 11:59pm, Thursday, March 19, 2020 and last at least through April 7th.

We have currently been working diligently to complete our spring rosters but made a decision earlier this week to postpone our scheduled coaches meeting as well as sending out the rosters to the coaches.

This decision was made to alleviate Coaches from having to answer questions pertaining to the league and the upcoming season and to ensure we are all on the same page and receiving the correct information.

At this time, we will be postponing the coach contact date of March 21st as well as the uniform handout dates that were scheduled for the week of March 23rd.

As of now, we are postponing our spring season start date from March 28th to April 18th.

We ask for everyone’s patience and understanding as we all navigate through this together.

As the situation continues to evolve, we may make more changes but want to ensure you that the safety and health of our CYBL families remain our main priority.

This is definitely not how we wanted to be starting our spring season & celebrating our 15th year anniversary. We’ve been receiving so many emails of support and realize how many of our participants are missing basketball and sports in general.

Our office phone line is currently closed but we will be available via email at info@cybhoops.com should you have any further questions.

Thank you all for your continued support. Please remain safe and healthy. We will continue to keep you all updated.

CYBL Parents, Winter participants & selected All-Stars,

We regretfully inform you that we have decided to cancel the upcoming All-Star games that we had rescheduled for Sunday, March 15th in accordance with the newly published criteria from Governor Newsome.

Full statement can be found here:

https://www.gov.ca.gov/2020/03/11/california-public-health-experts-mass-gatherings-should-be-postponed-or-canceled-statewide-to-slow-the-spread-of-covid-19/

“The state’s public health experts have determined that gatherings should be postponed or canceled across the state until at least the end of March. Non-essential gatherings must be limited to no more than 250 people, while smaller events can proceed only if the organizers can implement social distancing of 6 feet per person. Gatherings of individuals who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should be limited to no more than 10 people, while also following social distancing guidelines.”

The safety and health of our CYBL families remain our main priority.

“Changing our actions for a short period of time will save the life of one or more people you know,” said Governor Newsom. “That’s the choice before us. Each of us has extraordinary power to slow the spread of this disease. Not holding that concert or community event can have cascading effects — saving dozens of lives and preserving critical health care resources that your family may need a month from now. The people in our lives who are most at risk – seniors and those with underlying health conditions — are depending on all of us to make the right choice.”

With an event planned of this size, we have to ensure the safety of our staff, participants and spectators. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused your families and we are extremely disappointed to have to make this decision.

In our efforts to celebrate our All-Stars achievements we are offering the following:

All-Stars can pick up their individual All-Star medals at the listed pick up locations.

All-Star tribute apparel will be available for purchase at the listed pick up locations.

All-Star tribute apparel that was pre-ordered will be available for pick up at the listed pick up locations.
